And most importantly, Phaselis is located in a pine forest right on the seashore with breathtaking mountain views.

 The history of Phaselis begins already in the 7th century BC, when the colonists from Rhodes during the period of the "Great Greek colonization" formed their settlement by buying land in a funny way, and ends in the 12th century, when the city completely lost its commercial significance and was abandoned by people ... During this rather long period the city was ruled by Greeks and Persians, Lycians and pirates, Romans and Byzantines. Phaselis met with dignity both Alexander the Great and the Roman emperor Hadrian ...
