Aspendos is one of the most popular ancient cities in Antalya. And there is nothing strange here, because Aspendos is home to the best outdoor Roman theater in Turkey. It is so well preserved that it is now one of the symbols of tourist Antalya.

The Aspendos Theater was built by two brother citizens as a gift to the city in honor of the gods and the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius (second half of the 2nd century).

The theater had 42 rows and 20 sectors, the stage was two-level, and the capacity was 8 thousand spectators. During the Roman period, gladiator fights were actively held in the theater.

We will also take a walk in the city itself. The trading area (agora), the monumental source (nymphaeum), the basilica, the aqueduct - all of them are also well preserved and look impressive.
